Extremely Informative. The message is simple, concise, and valuable as a recent college graduate. Before this book I didn't realize the potential gains of setting aside as little as 200$ a month by following the advice presented. This book has laid out a great framework for being more money concious as I start my new career. I would especially recommend this book for recent college graduates that need advice for how to manage and invest their income.
With all the talking heads on TV financial programs and the quantity of information on the net out there about investing I have been more than confused about how to save for retirement. I am happy to say that I FINALLY found an easy to read and understand book that gives a well-rounded and step by step plan on what to do in these crazy financial times. This would be a great gift for graduating high school seniors, young adults who are starting out and Gen xers like me who need to have a plan for retirment NOW! I highly recommend this book!
Wow, what a refreshing, simplified look at investing. Between the life lessons and the investment advice, this is a must read. Finally, a guide that isn't hundreds of pages long. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in learning investment fundamentals.
Bucket List Investing lays out a simple path to financial freedom. It is meaty enough to be meaningful but simple enough that anyone can read it and come away with practical lessons about securing retirement. As a newlywed, I couldn't have picked a better time to find this book. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Picked up this book on a recommendation from a friend and was interested to see what "short and simple" plans awaited me inside. The book is true to its title, short and simple is what you get; in my opinion the advice is a little too short and overly simple. Mr. Pitkin certainly has some solid advice to give, despite it being heavy diluted and watered down. My main beef is charging $12 for little more than a pamphlet of information that can be readily found for free on the internet. Most people should be able to finish this "book" in 15 minutes or less. I'd be happier if this were, say... $4, and I could use the remaining $8 to invest.
Investing is very complicated and the wealth of information on the subject out there can be overwhelming to the newbie, I will applaud Mr. Pitkin on providing a solid foundation for those new to investing from which to jump. This book would make a perfect gift for a graduating high school student, however I'd be hard pressed to recommend it to anyone else. If you are truly serious about diving into investing and saving for retirement, I recommend you look for something with a little more breadth between the covers.
